Twin Peaks Blu-ray box official for 7/29, plus James Clavell's Shogun & more!
by Bill HuntAll right, real quick update today with great news at least for you Twin Peaks fans! Almost exactly a year after we first broke the news here at The Digital Bits that CBS was hard at work on a Blu-ray upgrade of their own Definitive Gold Box Edition DVD release, CBS has just revealed via Entertainment Weekly that Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery and The Missing Pieces will street on Blu-ray Disc on 7/29 (you can pre-order it now here on Amazon.com). In addition to containing nearly everything that was on the Gold Box DVD set, the Blu-ray box will also include the prequel film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. Series creator David Lynch, CBS and special edition producer Charles de Lauzirika have also created new extras just for this release. The set will even include 90 minutes’ worth never-before-seen deleted and alternate scenes from the film. Full specs are available here and we'll talk more about the extras tomorrow. All right, the big news today is that Walt Disney Home Entertainment has just delivered on the classic catalog animation front as we expected them to: The studio has just officially set The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad: Special Edition, the Bedknobs and Broomsticks: Special Edition, the Hercules: Special Edition, the Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers – 10th Anniversary Edition, and the Tarzan: Special Edition for Blu-ray/DVD Combo release on 8/12 (SRP $29.99 each). In addition, Disney has also just officially set the Sleeping Beauty: Diamond Edition for Blu-ray Combo release on 10/7 ($36.99).
